Google übernimmt den Shopping-Dienstleister Channel Intelligence (CI). Der Anbieter stellt Händlern Online-Vertriebstools zur Verfügung.

Google übernimmt den Online-Shopping-Dienstleister Channel Intelligence (CI) für 125 Millionen Dollar. Die Akquisition soll noch im ersten Quartal abgeschlossen werden. Channel Intelligence stellt Händlern und Herstellern Systeme für den Warenvertrieb im Netz zur Verfügung, darunter Nutzer-Tracking für ein Referral-Netzwerk sowie Shopping-Tools für soziale Netzwerke. Google setzt einige Tools der Firma bereits im eigenen Shopping-Portal ein.

„Wir hatten ein Rekordjahr hinter uns, das in dieser spektakulären Akquisition gipfelte“, betont Doug Alexander, CEO von Channel Intelligence. Der Verkauf an Google würde die Stärke von CIs Technologie beweisen, so Alexander weiter.
